In 1973, Austrian glassmaker Claus Riedel created Riedel's top-shelf line of crystal wine glasses with the aid of the Association of Italian Sommeliers. Also works well for other wood-aged spirits
I use this glass for single-malt whisky as well as various brandies. Works well for well-aged spirits, even those at "cask strength" (elevated alcohol content ["proof"]). They are relatively fragile, so I would recommend them only for home use, and even then not in any kind of hectic/party setting. But they DO certainly enhance the experience of imbibing a fine distilled beverage! DR
