Outstanding Bluegrass/Modern Country Banjo CD
Wow, This CD is a an awesome bluegrass banjo cd with a twist. Shelor very tastefully expands the boundries of 3 finger style banjo pickin by adding a few songs which put bluegrass banjo in the context of modern country and it sounds great! (even the drums seem to fit well). If you are a bluegrass traditionalist or a country/rock-n-roller, you will be pleased with this cd's hard driving rythmic banjo style which stays true to traditions while, at the same time, introducing country/pop listeners to great sounding scruggs style banjo.

A Superlative Banjo Album
A formidable bluegrass album that includes many outstanding instrumentals, enough to be considered an instrumental album. Lots of banjo driven instrumentals including my personal favorites of Ernest T. Grass, Allen's Dream and Cross Road Blues. The latter being a blues driven banjo tune.

But more than a banjo album, this is a bluegrass album. With some exceptional bluegrass songs including two superb efforts in "Mountain Girl" with Junior Sisk on lead vocals and Ronnie Bowman and Dan Tyminski on harmonies. A tale of young love in the mountains. And the excellent "Without A Word", a wonderful gospel song co-written by Marty Stuart and one of my favorites on the disc with the thought provoking lyrics in presents.

This CD is comparable to any Lonesome River Band (which Sammy plays banjo for) CD that I own and I highly recommend it.

Leading Roll-Bradley Miller
I am a picker, but regardless, this tape is great. I picked up two earlier albums when Sammy was with the Lonesome River Band. They weren't near as solid as this solo effort. I feel any album with four or more great tracks is a good value. This one has over six, really solid with my favorite being: Ernest T. Grass
